# Connect Your Devices and Health Apps to Veyda

> Step-by-step instructions for linking your wearables, fitness trackers, and health apps to Veyda so your data syncs automatically.

The quality of your Veyda insights depends directly on the richness of your health data. When you connect a wearable or health platform, Veyda gains access to continuous, real-world measurements — heart rate variability, sleep stages, activity load, and more — that it uses to build a precise picture of your health over time. A connected device means your insights update automatically every time you open the app, with no manual logging required.

## Verify a connection is active

Every connected device or platform on the Connections page displays a status badge:

* **Green — Active**: Data is syncing normally.
* **Yellow — Pending**: The connection was authorized but the first sync has not yet completed. This typically resolves within a few minutes.
* **Red — Error**: Veyda cannot reach the device or platform. See the troubleshooting section below.

Tap any connection to view the last sync timestamp and the specific data types being shared.

  </Step>
</Steps>

## Troubleshooting

**A device won't connect**

* Make sure you are signed in to the correct account for the device manufacturer (e.g., your Garmin Connect account, your Oura account).
* Check that the Veyda app has internet access and that the device manufacturer's service is not experiencing an outage.
* Close and reopen Veyda, then try the connection flow again.

**Re-authorizing permissions**

If you previously denied a permission or changed your mind about what data Veyda can access, you can re-authorize at any time:

1. Go to **Settings > Connections** and tap the affected device.
2. Tap **Manage Permissions**.
3. Veyda reopens the device manufacturer's or platform's authorization screen so you can update your choices.

<Warning>
  If you revoke Veyda's permissions directly inside the Apple Health app, the Google account settings, or the device manufacturer's app — rather than through Veyda's Connections page — the connection will break and show a red **Error** status. To restore it, go to **Settings > Connections**, tap the affected device, and tap **Reconnect** to go through the authorization flow again.
</Warning>

**Connection shows an error after syncing for a while**

This usually means your authorization token has expired. Tap the connection, then tap **Reconnect** and complete the authorization flow. Most device platforms require periodic re-authorization as a security measure.
