Staying on top of your health means knowing when something important happens — not just when you remember to check the app. Veyda’s notification system is designed to surface the right information at the right time without burying you in noise. You can choose which alert types reach you, which channel they arrive on, and when your phone is off-limits. A well-configured notification setup makes Veyda feel like a quiet, reliable health monitor rather than a source of constant interruptions.

Notification types

Veyda sends five categories of notifications:
TypeDescription
Insight AlertsNotifies you when a new high-priority insight is available in your feed. Sent at most once per day.
Anomaly AlertsWarns you when Veyda detects an unusual reading — such as an irregular heart rate pattern or a significant sleep disruption — that falls outside your personal baseline.
Goal RemindersReminds you to close out an activity goal, complete a logged check-in, or hit a daily target before the day ends.
Weekly SummaryA digest sent every Monday morning covering your key metrics and trends from the previous week.
Data Sync IssuesAlerts you when a connected device or platform has stopped syncing so you can resolve it before data gaps affect your insights.

Set up push notifications

1

Open Veyda Settings

Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the app, then select Settings.
2

Go to Notifications

Tap Notifications in the Settings menu.
3

Enable push notifications

Toggle Push Notifications on. If Veyda has not yet requested permission, iOS displays the standard permission prompt — tap Allow.
4

Choose which alert types to enable

Under Push Notification Types, toggle each category on or off: Insight Alerts, Anomaly Alerts, Goal Reminders, Weekly Summary, and Data Sync Issues.
5

Adjust iOS notification settings if needed

If you previously denied permission and need to re-enable it, go to iOS Settings > Notifications > Veyda and turn on Allow Notifications. Return to Veyda and complete steps 3–4.

Enable email notifications

Email notifications are separate from push notifications and can be configured independently.
  1. Go to Settings > Notifications and tap Email Notifications.
  2. Enter or confirm the email address you want notifications sent to.
  3. Toggle the email notification types you want to receive:
    • Daily Digest — A morning summary of your latest insights and metrics.
    • Weekly Summary — The same weekly report available as a push notification, delivered to your inbox every Monday.
    • Anomaly Alerts — An immediate email when Veyda detects an unusual reading.
  4. Tap Save to apply your changes. Veyda sends a confirmation email to verify the address.
To unsubscribe from a specific email type without opening the app, use the Manage preferences link at the bottom of any Veyda notification email.

SMS alerts for high-priority anomalies

SMS alerts are a premium feature that sends a text message to your phone number when Veyda detects a high-priority anomaly — for example, a heart rate reading that exceeds a threshold you have set, or a severe sleep disruption. SMS alerts are designed as a redundant channel for situations where you may not have the app open. To enable SMS alerts:
  1. Go to Settings > Notifications and tap SMS Alerts.
  2. If you are on a plan that includes SMS alerts, enter your mobile number and tap Verify. Veyda sends a one-time code to confirm the number.
  3. Toggle High-Priority Anomaly Alerts on.
  4. Optionally, toggle Data Sync Issue Alerts on if you want a text when a device stops syncing.
If SMS alerts are not available on your current plan, this section displays an upgrade prompt.

Custom alert thresholds

Rather than relying solely on Veyda’s baseline-relative anomaly detection, you can set manual thresholds for specific metrics. When a reading crosses your threshold, Veyda sends an Anomaly Alert through whichever channels you have enabled. To set a custom threshold:
  1. Go to Settings > Notifications and tap Custom Thresholds.
  2. Tap Add Threshold.
  3. Select a metric — for example, Resting Heart Rate, HRV, Blood Oxygen, or Sleep Duration.
  4. Choose a condition: above, below, or outside range.
  5. Enter the threshold value (e.g., 90 bpm for resting heart rate).
  6. Tap Save. The threshold is active immediately.
You can add multiple thresholds for different metrics. To edit or delete a threshold, tap it in the Custom Thresholds list.
If you are managing a specific condition — such as hypertension, atrial fibrillation, or a sleep disorder — custom thresholds let you create a personal early-warning system. For example, setting a resting heart rate alert at 90 bpm or an HRV drop alert at 20 ms below your weekly average can prompt you to check in with your provider before a problem escalates. Discuss appropriate threshold values with your healthcare provider.

Quiet hours

Quiet hours prevent Veyda from sending push notifications and SMS alerts during a time window you define — useful for protecting sleep or focused work periods.
  1. Go to Settings > Notifications and tap Quiet Hours.
  2. Toggle Quiet Hours on.
  3. Set your Start time and End time using the time pickers.
  4. Choose whether Quiet Hours apply every day or only on selected days of the week.
  5. Toggle Allow Critical Anomaly Alerts if you want Veyda to override Quiet Hours for the highest-severity anomaly alerts (for example, a heart rate reading above 150 bpm at rest). This setting is off by default.
  6. Tap Save.
Email notifications are not affected by Quiet Hours. To pause email notifications, disable the specific email types in the Email Notifications settings.

Managing notification fatigue

Too many alerts can cause you to start ignoring all of them — including the important ones. Here are a few practices that keep your Veyda notifications useful:
  • Start with less. Enable only Anomaly Alerts and Weekly Summary to begin with. Add more types after you understand which ones add value to your routine.
  • Use push for urgent, email for context. Enable push notifications for Anomaly Alerts and Data Sync Issues, and email for Daily Digest and Weekly Summary. This way, your phone buzzes only when something needs immediate attention.
  • Rate your insights. Tapping the thumbs up or thumbs down on insight cards directly influences how Veyda prioritizes Insight Alerts. The more you rate, the fewer irrelevant notifications Veyda sends.
  • Review your thresholds periodically. As your fitness level or health status changes, a threshold that once felt appropriate may trigger too frequently or not enough. Check your Custom Thresholds every few months and adjust accordingly.
